Vegas Part I
Missed out on telling ya all about the trip to Vegas!
Went with Jen and Chris. Gamestop has there convention every year...except that it will be coming to San Antonio NEXT year. Bummer!...this could have been the start of a yearly rite of passage!
So, they invited as they were going a couple of days early. Woot! win for me, I tagged along.
Took off Thursday AM and that was loads of fun in itself. Got out of work late the night before, hadn't packed, dogs needed to be groomed and prepped for their weekend stay at John and Beth's (shoutout: super thanks for taking care of them!!). Ended up laying in bed for about 30mins before I just got up showered, dropped the doggies off and traversed SATX and traffic to get to the airport.
Apparently, one shouldn't pack a roll of quarters on their carry-on. Good to know for NEXT time. (Also, on orange days, beverages are a no-go too!) Oh, and one should remember if they packed anything sharp or dangerous in their carry-on....moments of delayed response make the security people a tad nervous!
Got into LV pretty quickly and somehow the late morning was a big blur! But, Mandalay Bay is really nice! Got a room with a semi-good view, wasn't choice, but it wasn't a parking lot! There was a strange sun motif being built.
Went to the Bathhouse at THEhotel. MMMMMmmmmm, nice! Don't get your heads in the gutter, it isn't that kind of "bath house" ;)
Anyway, had tons of fun! Went back to the room and got dollied up to go to the
Cathouse! Good food, good entertainment, and good company!
Got back and eventually tried out the Penny slots for a while. Broke even...a rarity, I'm sure!
But, will have to post the rest of the vacation at another time. Last day off here and I have to get laundry done...ugh, work tomorrow...at least it's in the afternoon!

It's been awhile...
Since I've really set down any thoughts down.
Been really busy with work. It seems to be taking up all my time and energy. Having a rough time and trying to remain positive. The staff covers their duties and I need to remember that they come first. They are the frontlines and they will keep the complaints down and/or covered. Now if I could only keep their spirits high and their faith in me high!
So, I've been told that I need to go on a romantic date...Angela described her fun filled night. She went all out and I'm sure she thinks I wasn't paying full attention while I was doing my closing paperwork_ the closet romantic in me was ;) Got the lowdown on the pre-dinner mass, the planned sunset dinner at the tower, the preferred seating for next time, the lobster tail and steak and finally her preoccupation with the chef and the steak knife. I do listen. But, most importantly, I noted her sincerity in her advice. So, maybe I do need a little me-time...
I had just gotten home and I got into an odd sporadic car cleaning frenzy...Tuesdays are recycling days. All my items in my portable midden were recyclables and had been part of the reason on why they weren't thrown out just anywhere. Got a call from Gray. Went to Jim's for a late night coffee. Had a good time catching up on the latest gossip and goings-on. We are both at a much different point in our lives than when we first met. But, it was good to reminisce.
For now, living one day at a time isn't getting any better. Think I need to wake up and figure out where the drive is going. Soon, the scenery will be gone. And, I'll be left standing wondering...
...and I won't have the answers. To questions I don't even know!

Today...
was an unexpected ride.
Having the day off from work meant that I could sleep in. Finished Gears of War II on the hardcore setting on my lonesome and waited for the classic "achievement unlocked" sight and sound.
If only life were as simple...and obvious.
Walked the dogs and got a call from jen and chris. They were going to make a double batch of poppy seed chicken and I wasn't about to miss that. chris was set that she and i were going to be having margaritas because jen and jake were gonna be indulging on the beer side. And, just won't do for chris and i!
Dinner was great, but not before i apparently struck a nerve with jake. Not sure how i set it off, but I may have tapped on one too many buttons. Time to limit the heavy liquor from me...or i should actually eat first. heh.
We followed that up with Zach and Miri Make a Porno. Ha! darn love stories in the guise of comedy. Although, I loved the fact Superman played the closet gay guy and Mac guy was the gay porn star. Plus, Jay and his friend make an appearance. *whistle*...three words: tattooed white guy!
Afterwards, chris and i ended up playing House of the Dead: overkill, a prelude to the House of the Dead series. OMFG! while it wasn't a difficult game, i was definitely taken aback...uhm, really...it has language, content, hilarious scenes, cheesy dialogue, gay subtexts, and sexual content. Don't forget to throw in the most highly unforgettable cutscene near the end. I think I need to schedule an appointment for therapy!
After that...we thought we broke the second PS3...oops! stupid updates. all's well though! *whew!*
Came home and ended up watching one more movie: Gone, but Not Forgotten. Amnesia, forest rangers, love, and reconciliations with our past. I don't know why I watch gay movies. They tend to bring me down even when they have happy endings (only RARELY!).
I'd almost say add valentine's into the mix and then we're in for non-stop fun. But, I really don't know where I'm at in that whole thing. Looking. Not looking. *shrug* It's been five years since the last serious relationship. While the thought is nice and the clock ticks away, I guess I'm still comfortable as is. If it comes my way, great! If it doesn't, well, who's to say it's for everyone.
I'm still taking my days as they come. What is, is.

I'll elaborate on a point that I've made more than once...I'm not like all the other boys! This includes, for some odd reason, my memory!
Mom always makes fun on how selective it is. What should be pretty basic stuff, I can't seem to recall it. Heh, even if it were the means to saving my life...I'd be doomed!!!
Lyrics! Now there's another challenge that would certainly get me killed. Make it one line from the song and I'm yours! Ask me about the next stanza and my eyes widen as the fog rolls in.
Oddly enough, really silly and out of the ordinary useless facts will cling like tar on dirt! Uhm, don't ask...not sure where that came from either...lol! Random trivia facts and number sequences seem to be a specialty!
I wonder if it will change or worsen as I get older. As with anything...it can only get worse!

catch up!
The hectic busy season has come and gone. Was it as festive as it could have been? WhoLs to say...no?
Had fun with friends and fam. Department of the Year at the work holiday party. Survived both christmas and new year's eve at work.
will be heading home to spend some time with the fam. can't believe my sis is over 21 and an adult in her own right. she's strong in some aspects and prolly still as romantic in her notions of love and whatnot.
still trying to fix the house. want to setup the office first and the spare bedroom. then the main living room can be tiled. should be able to getthis done by end of month. we'll see.
